Just finished a brilliant book by Rabbi (and Doctor) Akiva Tatz, called “Anatomy of a Search”. Do yourself a favour, read it.
Really well written and is the perfect baal teshuva book discussing the ups and downs of a few baal teshuva journeys, including his own. It’s serious, educational and funny. Mostly, it’s totally relatable. Rabbi Akiva Tatz discusses some critical questions too, like what’s learning all about, are we being brainwashed, what’s logic, what’s faith, written law vs oral law, the skism that many baalei teshuva go through of the ‘old’ and ‘new’ selves, feminism, and much more.
